Step 1: Prepare the Ham
Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).
Remove the ham from its packaging and place it cut-side down on a roasting rack in a large roasting pan.
Cover tightly with foil and bake for 1 hour.
Step 2: Make the Stuffing
Combine panko breadcrumbs, chopped apricots, walnuts, parsley, thyme, orange juice, melted butter, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
Mix well until the stuffing holds together when pressed.
Step 3: Stuff the Ham
Carefully remove the ham from the oven and let it cool slightly. Using a spoon, gently separate the slices and place a small amount of stuffing between each layer. Do not overfill.
Re-cover the ham and return to the oven for an additional 30 minutes.
Step 4: Prepare the Glaze
In a saucepan, combine apricot preserves, honey, Dijon mustard, orange juice, and ground cloves.
Heat over medium until smooth and glossy, about 5 minutes.
Step 5: Glaze and Finish
Remove the foil from the ham and brush liberally with the prepared glaze. Increase the oven temperature to 375°F (190°C) and bake uncovered for another 20–30 minutes, basting with glaze every 10 minutes, until the ham is caramelized and golden.
Step 6: Serve
Transfer the ham to a serving platter, slice fully, and garnish with fresh herbs or orange slices.
Serve hot with remaining glaze on the side.
To serve, slice portions of ham, ensuring a bit of stuffing in each piece. Pair it with roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad. For an extra touch, offer a small bowl of warmed apricot glaze for dipping. This dish is perfect for buffet-style dinners or formal sit-down meals.
There’s nothing like a show-stopping ham to bring people together. Its rich flavors, enticing aromas, and festive appearance make it a meal to remember. With this recipe, you’ll create more than just a dish—you’ll create memories that linger long after the plates are cleared.
